It’s a quick read and easy one which is not the case for most financial books I’ve read. Really great ideas and information!

Be Your Own Bank provides a fresh and interesting take on how we view and use our assets. Rather than taking out a loan or simply saving up for a large purchase, this book details a third option, referred to as operating YourBank. The introduction to the book lets you know right away that doing so will require some calculating, along with a degree of self-discipline. The idea of operating your own ‘bank’ (not literally) may seem overwhelming, but Peri Scott excels at breaking down the concept into small, manageable steps.

When first beginning this book, I assumed that it was geared toward those who already have some wealth to draw upon. I was happy to discover that the basic ideas behind Be Your Own Bank can be implemented, or at least pursued, regardless of your current financial situation. Peri Scott does an excellent job of explaining the theory behind this book in a logical and reasonable manner. The suggestions for using your money to set up a continual cash flow certainly has broad appeal. Be Your Own Bank is a smart financial guide that truly has the power to benefit everyone. Peri Scott has presented an option for gaining full control over your assets. If anyone is looking for a path to financial freedom, Be Your Own Bank is an excellent place to start!

We Can Save The World... but there's no money in it by Peri Scott

★★★★☆ / BY AMANDA MURELLO / AUGUST 9, 2021

Money makes the world go round—at least, that's how it's always been. But is there a better way? Is it possible for capitalism to exist in a world where greed doesn't reign supreme? Where some people live lives so lavish they can literally throw money away while others constantly struggle just to keep a roof over their heads? A better version of capitalism is the admirable objective Peri Scott considers in the small but mighty piece, We Can Save The World... but there's no money in it.
Capitalism means different things to people in different stations of life. Earlier works by Scott seek to help readers make good use of their finances, but this book takes a look at why some people have it all while others can't get ahead. What he proposes involves taking an honest and fresh look at how society views wealth and the obligation to care for the basic needs of its citizens. Rather than a system that is male dominated, as it traditionally has been, or one that leans in one political direction or the other, the idea of a "caring economy" is offered as an alternative.
We Can Save The World... but there's no money in it comes across as more of an active discussion guide based on the research of several educated men and women than a workable plan of action, however I hope to someday live in the world proposed by Scott. Realistically, though, it would take a great transformation in the heart of all mankind to make the sorts of sweeping changes mentioned in the book. If you are a person that likes to look at problems from new angles, you'll enjoy the journey as Peri Scott puts his analytical mind to good use in this philosophical look into the capitalistic economic system. - Indies Today
